A huge thank you to those who came to share their practice with me tonight - both the meditation oriented 6.15pm-7.15pm class and the more powerful and restorative 7:30pm-8.45pm classes were filled with your amazing energy and dedication to practice.
This was the theme of our class today: the importance of *doing* the practices we know benefit us. I read you a short extract from Mihaily's wonderful book Flow, from the chapter Paths of Liberation (p22):
"Control over consciousness is not simply a congnitive skill.
At least as much as intelligence, it requires the commitment of emotions and will.
It is not enough to know how to do it; one must do it, consistently, in the same way as athletes or musicians who must keep practicing what they know in theory.
And this is never easy."
Patanjali summed it up nicely: 98% practice, 2% theory!
Well done everyone on your commitment to practice, particularly outside of class - keep up the fantastic flow!
Next week more meditation techniques at 6.15pm and at 7.30pm more exploration of the 'scoop' and introducing the bandhas, specifically uddhiyana bandha which is particularly beneficial not just for core strength but for digestive issues also...
💦 Wishing you all a wonderful week
